Manager (Technical Operations)

JOB DESCRIPTION FOR Manager (Technical Operations)

JOB SUMMARY

As the Technical Operations Manager, you will need to have both depth and breadth of knowledge in multiple technology disciplines and to lead your team in overseeing, monitoring and managing the IT Infrastructure, resolving issues, identifying and implementing new capabilities, managing technological risks, and ensuring the smooth ongoing execution of IT operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and oversee all IT infrastructure and operations:
    • Administration of Active Directory, Office365 (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, etc.), Firewall, data backup and recovery, Storage, PaaS and SaaS systems
    • Hardware and Operating System maintenance and firmware upgrade of Servers, Network and storage equipment
    • Support and maintain IT Infrastructure which includes troubleshooting, patching, hardening and upgrading
    • Manage licences and renewal of contracts and services
    • Discover, evaluate, recommend, and implement new technology solutions to meet business needs
    • Conduct regular reviews of technological architecture, operations and processes
    • Direct operations and resources to ensure projects stay on schedule and meet expectations
  • Define, review and enforce IT policies, processes and standards to ensure consistency, sustainability, quality and security
  • Manage vendor relationships to ensure high quality service delivery and cost-effective contracts
  • Prepare, oversee and control budgets, proposals and procurement of technology
  • Develop IT Operations strategies for the company to:
    • Effectively, efficiently and securely utilise technological assets, resources and capabilities
    • Create opportunities and competitive advantages for the company

REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree in an IT related discipline with at least 5 years proven experience as Technical Operations Manager
  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing people / leading a team
  • Able to move easily between taking a broad, strategic perspective, and drilling down to the details
  • Wide knowledge of technology trends, IT operations, risks, security and compliance
  • Business acumen – able to understand business problems and identify how technology can enhance business strategy
  • Client-oriented – able to understand the client point of view, anticipate demands, and implement technology strategies that enable the company to stay a step ahead of their needs

Manager (IT) - Database

JOB DESCRIPTION FOR MANAGER (IT) – DATABASE

JOB SUMMARY

We are collecting lots of data – structured and unstructured – and we are looking for an experienced Database Manager to be the master architect behind the development, management and maintenance of our critical data assets.

In this role, you will analyse the organization’s database needs and develop a long-term strategy. You will design, implement and maintain the databases and data applications, ensuring that it meets operational requirements and is efficient.  In addition, you will establish policies and processes related to data security, integrity and availability. Opportunities to expand into dashboarding, data mining, analytics and modelling will also become increasingly available as you help build and grow our data warehouse.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyse the database needs of the organization and design effective database systems with high levels of performance, availability and security.
  • Monitor, tune and maintain database to ensure optimal health, performance and efficiency
  • Troubleshoot, identify and resolve database related issues.
  • Implement database access policy, database security tools and/or measures to safeguard the organisation’s data.
  • Maintain and/or migrate existing MS Access database and applications
  • Develop applications and tools that analyses the data for better insights and business intelligence
  • Perform data mining and analysis (Extract, Transform, Load) operations; execute data queries, generate reports and create dashboards
  • Define and implement database backup and recovery policy and procedures
  • Formulate DR plan and build DR capabilities.
  • Maintain database dictionaries, SOPs and other relevant documentation
  • Ensure project milestone/goals are met and within budget.
  • Conduct user training

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum Degree in IT or a related field, ideally with relevant industry certifications
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience working with one or more Database Management Systems
  • Well-versed in writing SQL queries
  • Well versed in Microsoft Access and LAMP Stack
  • Experience with data analytics, data mining, data protection legislation and implementing database security policies
  • Experience with high availability and disaster recovery options for SQL server
  • Experience with performance tuning and optimization
  • Meticulous with an eye for detail
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good time management skills
  • Sense of ownership and urgency
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Team player but also able to work independently
  • Understanding of Research operations will be an added advantage

Legal Manager (Part Time)

JOB DESCRIPTION FOR LEGAL MANAGER (PART TIME)

JOB SUMMARY

As part of the Finance team, you will be responsible for contract review and management and providing legal advisory. In this role, you will work closely with business leaders across 3 business units on the above matters. You will take the lead in ensuring consistency in contract reviews and facilitating discussions with stakeholders where necessary. To achieve this, it is important that you understand the operations of each business unit and how the external environment impact business strategies.

This position will report to the Senior Manager in Finance department.  It is a 20 hours workweek from Monday to Friday.  The hours may vary depending on the nature of work.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Contract Review and Management

  • Review contracts that are brought forward by business units, with the aim of reducing organisational risks and ensuring that the contract brings a positive impact for the company.
  • Identify the key clauses of the contract e.g. termination, indemnity etc for closer review and follow through to ensure that problematic issues have been resolved before contracts are signed.
  • Drafting of new commercial agreements or specific clauses for existing agreements.
  • Organise communication sessions with stakeholders and across business units where necessary.
  • Develop a process to ensure consistencies in the review of contracts across business units.
  • Regular reviews of common agreements across business units e.g. Non-disclosure Agreement and Vendor Commissioning Agreement etc to ensure that these stay relevant to the business.
  • Develop a process for contract management i.e. working to ensure that the terms and conditions of signed contract are adhered to and all parties’ contractual obligations are met satisfactorily.
  • Working with Data Protection Officers to ensure organisational compliance with PDPA regulations.

Legal review

  • Able to share legal opinion with management team across a broad range of issues, including but not limited to human resource practices, employment, compliance to regulations etc.
  • Good Knowledge of different legal issues and assist in drafting legal opinions and other documents.
  • Analyse and research the implication of laws and regulation that may impact the organisation and propose to management on best options to adopt, which minimise legal risks and liability.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in law
  • At least 3 years of experience in a related role
  • Strong planning, organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to perform efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Independent and self-motivated
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite

Executive / Senior Executive (Human Resource)

JOB SUMMARY

As part of the Corporate Human Resources (HR) team, you will act as an important enabler in helping the Company achieve its mission and vision. You will be responsible for the full suite of HR functions in the Company. Field Interviewer (Freelance)

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for collecting data by conducting structured face-to-face surveys using tablets or pen and paper
  • In-charge of the recruitment of respondent on the ground for research studies
  • Approach respondents on the streets or by knocking from door-to-door. No selling or promotional activities is involved.
  • A 5-day work week, including weekends.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum GCE ‘O’ levels
  • Competent in English and one or more of the following languages – Chinese, Malay & Tamil.

Research Interviewer (Full-Time / Part-Time)

JOB DESCRIPTION FOR RESEARCH INTERVIEWER (FULL-TIME / PART-TIME)

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Research Interviewer is responsible for collecting data by conducting structured surveys over the telephone or in person and entering the responses into computer systems or mobile devices. No marketing or selling is involved. The full-time research interviewers will be required to work between 12.30pm to 9.30pm, Monday to Friday with a 1 hour meal break. The part-time research interviewers will be required to work on a four-hours shift between 12.30pm to 4.30pm or 5.30pm to 9.30pm, Monday to Friday.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum GCE ‘O’ levels
  • Competent in English and one or more of the following languages – Chinese, Malay & Tamil
  • Strong telephone skills and excellent telephone demeanor; prior call center or telephone interviewing experience preferred
  • Strong social, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Proficiency with computers and software
